Father Desperate To Find Missing 18-Year-Old Hospital Volunteer

A father is desperate to find his 18-year-old daughter who went missing early Monday morning. Dr. Ardeshir Karimi told KCAL9 that he last saw his daughter, Caroline, around 7 a.m. at their residence in the 2900 block of Queensbury Dr. in Cheviot Hills. He said she was headed to work as a San Gabriel Valley Medical Center volunteer, but never showed up. Caroline’s last known stop was two miles away from her home at the Vons at the Cheviot Hills Shopping Center. Security cameras showed her walking in, grabbing food, going back to her car and then driving away. Suraya Fadel Reporting

Bree’Anna Guzman’s Mother Continues To Look For Justice

Friday marked a painful anniversary for those who knew and loved a woman found dead near a freeway on-ramp 18 months ago. Bree’Anna Guzman, a Lincoln Heights native, disappeared while walking from her home along the 73000 block of Humboldt Street in Dec. 2011. The 22-year-old’s body was found a month later near the Glendale (2) Freeway on-ramp in Echo Park. Suraya Fadel reporting.

Monterey Park City Council Wants All Businesses To Have At Least 1 Sign In ‘Modern Latin’

The Monterey Park City Council has proposed that all businesses and eateries in the city, where 67 percent of the population is of Asian descent, have at least one sign in the “modern Latin alphabet.” The zoning code amendment, which could likely be adopted Aug. 7, seeks to enhance traffic safety and help emergency services. Long Beach Police Warn Public About Planned ‘Bash Mob’

Long Beach Police warned residents Friday about a scheduled ‘Bash Mob’ but the violent act did not materialize. A ‘Bash Mob’ involves upwards of 100 people — usually teens who organize on social media — who run through the streets attacking and assaulting people, stealing property, committing petty crimes and acts of vandalism. Police Beef Up Patrols Following Hollywood Crime Spree

Police across Southern California are beefing up patrols following Wednesday night’s crime spree in Hollywood. Approximately 40 people had gathered in the area near Hollywood Boulevard and Highland Avenue around 9 p.m., knocking people down and taking their cell phones. Merchandise and cash registers were stolen from local businesses and windows broken throughout the neighborhood.
